Sign up today for our Immigration Paralegal Training. The training is an intense 40 hour course that will teach you techniques and strategies and give you the knowledge to help your clients and community members in the minefield of immigration law. Nonprofit staff are especially encouraged to apply and we also welcome personnel from private law offices and immigration attorneys.

Immigration Paralegal Course
Our comprehensive 40 hour course covers topics such as family visas, admissibility, deportation, naturalization and other forms of immigration benefits and strategies. This intensive six-day training is designed to provide staff working at non-profit agencies the foundation to gain accreditation from the Board of Immigration Appeals and to practice before immigration judges and the BIA. (The BIA now often cites successful completion of this training as a positive factor in granting accreditation.)

The fees for tuition:
$400 for staff of nonprofit agencies
$500 for staff of private law firms
A separate fee of $150 plus shipping for the textbook, “A Guide for Immigration Advocates” written and edited by the Immigrant Legal Resource Center is required from each student.

Applications from nonprofit staff of community based organization that are organizing immigrant communities for progressive change will be given preference, but everyone offering immigration services is encouraged to apply. The training is designed to assist nonprofit organizations and staff members to complete the requirement for BIA recognition and accreditation. Legal personnel from law firms and private practitioners are encouraged to apply. Attendance for each class is very important receive a certificate of completion. In addition a final exam will be given at the end of the course.
