On Monday, CHIRLA joined Presente.org, SEIU 1877, Orange County Federation of Labor, Center for Community Change, Orange Country Dream Team, the California Dream Network and others to announce that more than 110,000 petitions had been gathered through MoveTheGame.org, a project of Presente.org and MoveOn.org. The petitions call on Major League Baseball Comissioner Bud Selig to move next year's All Star Game out of Arizona because of their passage of SB1070.
SB1070 is an anti-immigrant, unamerican, discriminatory law that can lead to racial profiling. Arizona does not deserve the honor of hosting next year's All-Star Game. Arizona as well as the rest of our nation needs an immigration reform bill not radical laws that will lead to discrimination and fear mongering.

Maria Rodriguez of the California Dream Network, a CHIRLA project, speaks to reporters on the importance of passing immigration reform bill to avoid more SB1070 laws being passed in other states. Taking the All-Star Game out of Arizona, she said, is the right thing to do because it matches our nation's values.

Mike Garcia, SEIU-Local 1877 President, Orange County Dream Team member, and Boycott Arizona-Los Angeles Team representatives participated in Monday's Press Conference.
