Originally from Mexico City, Mexico David Gonzalez came to the United States at the age of 9 and found Oxnard, CA as his new home. His initial involvement with the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, CHIRLA, was through the California Dream Network. After attending a two day retreat in 2012 he immediately knew that this organization was much more than student organizing, it was a collective of community members fighting to defend immigrant rights. He now works as a law fellow at CHIRLA, and he attends California State University Northridge (CSUN) where he is studying Economics and Chicano Studies. David is very passionate about immigration, because he is undocumented, a DACA recipient and his life constantly revolving around immigration. He also loves to play soccer and going to LAFC games. He previously worked at Law Office of Vanessa Frank, managing all aspects of client communication, office management and attorney support.
