Donna Arnds has worked in the nonprofit field since 1999, focusing on fundraising and development for a variety of Southern California organizations, including: YWCA of Glendale, Downtown Women’s Center, Kidspace Children’s Museum, Anaheim Family YMCA, and Door of Hope. As CHIRLA's first Senior Grant Writer, she is inspired to support immigration reform efforts after experiencing the daunting immigration process through the eyes of a close family member. She hopes to help CHIRLA move forward to its next phase of growth.
In 2016, Donna took a short respite from nonprofit work -- but not writing -- when she returned to UCLA to achieve her lifelong dream of completing her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Her future goals include reading all of the works of Gabriel García Marquéz and William Shakespeare, and writing a thesis about Toby Ziegler, her favorite character on The West Wing.
