Raised in the San Fernando Valley, Michell's strong passion for social and environmental justice work first began while attending high school and advocating for student rights and taking a direct action in beautifying her school. She soon after went on to earn her Bachelors in Environmental Science and Policy at California State University Long Beach. Michell now resides in Burbank, where she committed six years at TreePeople joining the Development Department and began her nonprofit career in fundraising.
At TreePeople she was able to rebuild the membership program by acquiring new and lapsed donors, help build extensive donor cultivation and steward events and take their annual gala to earn the most revenue in TreePeople history.
Michell believes that youth are the most essential leaders for our future, and, if given the right tools, will create real change. Her motivation stems strongly from her parent's hard work ethic along with her nieces’ and nephews’ joyful spirits.
In her spare time, you can find Michell hiking a trail, riding her bike or being social with her close friends and husband. As a California native, Michell continues to be committed to her community and strives to support nonprofit leadership and fundraising.
