CHIRLA's annual gala is the most prestigious immigrant celebration of the year, bringing together hundreds of community and elected leaders, advocates, supporters, and organizations to recognize excellence in immigrant rights achievements for 2018. At this event, important community leaders are honored for their contributions to our society and impact in the community. It is thanks to these and many other leaders' work that undocumented immigrants in California have access to in-state tuition, financial aid, driver’s licenses, health care, labor protections, and other benefits that help integrate them into the fabric of our state's economy and culture.
CHIRLA’s 32nd Annual Gala celebrates the spirit, accomplishments and contributions of immigrants and their allies in the face of unprecedented attacks on their livelihood, dignity, and humanity. This year's theme is One Nation, One Family. It addresses the importance of family unity and of forging harmony across a diverse nation, at a time when our democracy hangs by a thread. It is our unity and understanding across ethnicities and languages that makes us a nation – as the Pledge of Allegiance says: "One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Join us for this special occasion to celebrate our heritage, our resilience, our families, and our unity!
