Many of them, including many Dreamers, must leave the U.S. to complete their journey to a green card and, today, face extremely long, multi-year wait periods. On top of this, these individuals cannot apply for work permits to support themselves while they wait. President Biden can change that by offering new programs to allow them to work while on their path to citizenship.
