CHIRLA is hosting ImmiPOWer Day to help immigrants in our community put themselves on the map! Participants will learn about redistricting, the special election of 2021, and the Yes to Immigrants Forward campaign. As they visit different booths, participants learn to tell their stories, see how they fit into their district maps, and get involved in decisions that will affect their communities for the next ten years.
During the census, our community made sure it counted. In this next phase, we will master the coming political debates overdrawing district lines, voting in the coming special election, and passing immigration reform by any means available. An informed community reclaims its power and puts itself on the map. ImmiPOWer Day puts it on overdrive! #ImmiPOWerDay
