The Immigrant Assistance line is a toll-free information and referral phone line, available Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. to refer community members to services from CHIRLA and partner organizations. Call 888-624-4752 (888-6-CHIRLA).

We are open Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Can I make an appointment?Expand

We do not make appointments, CHIRLA is open for consultations on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at our main office 2533 West 3rd Street, Suite 101, Los Angeles, California 90057.

Mondays: 9 AM -1 PM  and 2 PM-4:30 PM
Tuesdays: 2 PM-4:30 PM

We offer legal services including: Family Unity, U-Visa, Removal Defense, DACA Clinics and Student Legal Services.

Workshops: In-person presentations at community forums, festivals, conferences, and student/parent meetings to help community members learn more about

It is the policy of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights--CHIRLA that no person otherwise eligible will be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination in the administration of CHIRLA programs and services based on non-merit factors such as race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability (physical or mental). 

What is DACA?Expand

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is an executive branch memorandum that was announced by President Obama back in 2012. This program allows some individuals with unlawful presence in the United States to receive a two-year work permit and protection from deportation. Learn more about the program.

Can I still renew DACA?Expand

Yes, we provide limited legal services for DACA renewals via a consultation request link posted on our Instagram and Facebook pages on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m.

Do you help with information regarding labor laws?Expand

What is “Know Your Rights”?Expand

Being in contact with law enforcement can be a stressful experience regardless of your immigration status. Here are some tips to help you Know Your Rights if you or someone you know has an encounter with the law enforcement. Request a presentation on this topic.
