September 1, 2011 - LA's Women Workers

Thank You for Supporting LA's Women Workers

Thank you to everyone who supported CHIRLA's Women Leading Change reception! Almost 100 people came out to enjoy a lovely evening including LAUSD School Board President, Monica Garcia; Alicia Villareal from the Office of Labor Secretary Hilda Solis; Professor Mary Romero from Arizona State University, author of The Maid's Daughter; and CHIRLA's own Household Worker Committee.

We are especially grateful to our evening's hosts Congresswoman Karen Bass, Congresswoman Judy Chu and LAUSD Board President Mónica García; to our generous sponsors Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld, Dapeer, Rosenblit & Litvak, Maria Echaveste/NVG, LLC, Frith-Smith & Archibald, LLP, Law Offices of Noemi Ramirez, Miablackbear.com Photography, Mary Romero, SEIU United Service Workers West, and Sara Zapata-Mijares/Mundo Maya Foundation; and to La Santa Cecilia for their special appearance to honor LA's women workers.

And thanks again to all of YOU!  With your help we raised over $8,000 to support our work with Household Workers and other women workers in the Los Angeles area.  We appreciate your support.
