For 40 years, CHIRLA has been powered by the love, courage, and determination of immigrant families who dared to organize for dignity and belonging. From living rooms and church basements to the halls of power, our community has built a movement rooted in resilience. Together, we have won protections, advanced policies, defended families from deportation, expanded access to driver’s licenses and healthcare, and helped shape California into a beacon of immigrant rights.

This year's 40th-anniversary Immigrant Champion Awards will celebrate the generations who organized before us, and we stand firm in the present as our communities face ongoing, relentless attacks. Through every challenge, our resolve has only grown stronger.
