In Memoriam of Dr. Alma Salazar
CHIRLA Board of Member 2011-2020
Doctor Alma Salazar joined CHIRLA's board of directors in May of 2011. In February of 2015, she was nominated to be the Chair, and won by a unanimous vote.
It was under Dr. Salazar's wise board leadership that CHIRLA worked out its most recent strategic plan. With her foresight, CHIRLA was able to plan for a sustainable expansion of offices and personnel throughout the state.
Dr. Salazar was a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, with a bachelors' degree in speech communication, a masters' degree in public policy and administration, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership.
She was born in Chicago to immigrant parents and always shared how proud she was to be Noah's mom.
