In celebration of Immigrant Heritage Month, CHIRLA presents Immi’Art 2022, our 5th annual art and culture exhibition of immigrant heritage artists.

In Mexico, when someone compliments another person, we say they’re echando flores--sending flowers. Works of art are the flowers that artists send to our community. Their work explores and reveals our collective soul. Whether they paint, draw, sculpt, dance, recite poetry, or write novels, everything artists do reveals our story. Their art contributes to the movement. It’s part of our struggle.

That is why for the past five years, CHIRLA has sponsored Immi’Art, an art show by immigrants for all of us, to celebrate who we are and where we come from. This year, Immi’Art lifts the message of Immigrant Heritage Month: that we all have dignity no matter where we come from, and that where we come from makes us valuable.

Opening night is Thursday, June 23, 2022, 6 p.m.,  at the Mexican Consulate, 2401 W 6th St, 3rd floor, Los Angeles, CA 90057. To attend, register on the Eventbrite page!

The exhibition will remain on view and open to the public Friday and Monday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. We encourage guests to carpool, ride-share or take public transportation, as parking is limited.
