Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles

CHIRLA has these active campaigns, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) campaign and the DREAM Act campaign. In addition, CHIRLA is working on providing access to limited institutional financial aid for undocumented college students through the Students for Equal Access to Education Campaign, led by the California Dream Network, Below you can get news and updates from these campaigns and learn how you can take action!

Students for Equal Access to Education
The goals of this campaign are:
1. Strengthen California education policy to extend financial aid access for ALL students, including AB 540 students.
2. Make college affordable and accessible so that ALL California students may fully contribute and invest in their state and community.
3. Scholarship foundations are asked to open scholarships to ALL who qualify, including immigrant students by extending application requirements.

Help AB540 Students, Help California Prosper, Take Action!

1. Gather signatures to urge the Governor to invest in California's future.

2. Get you teacher,principal, counselor, professor, chancellor etc, to send a letter of support to the Governor. We want the Governor to know that academics support AB 2083 (Nunez) Student Financial Aid Eligibility Act.
