We, the undersigned, denounce the ongoing raids conducted by ICE because it,
Terrorizes families
Tears families apart
Causes confusion and distraction
Is ineffective in solving the undocumented immigration issues
Is cruel and inhumane
Violates human and civil rights
We call on Congress and the Bush Administration to order an immediate end to these brutal tactics that cause disruption in our communities and our businesses.
We also commend the introduction of the Protect Citizens and Residents from Unlawful Raids and Detention Act (S.3594) by Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA) which aims to restore basic due process protections to our laws.
This petition will be forwarded to our local, state, and federal elected officials to encourage them to defend the rights of their constituents, which include immigrants.
(Please make sure you complete each one of the blank fields. Only complete forms will be able to be forwarded and added to our growing list of supporters).
THANK YOU.
