I came to work at CHIRLA because it would provide me the opportunity to use my skills to help our community apply for Naturalization and to apply for their DACA Renewals. Prior to working at CHIRLA, I was a Program Associate in the Civic Engagement department at NALEO Educational Fund. There I was in charge of coordinating monthly citizenship workshops in LA County.
I studied Political Science at the University of California, Merced. My mother's process towards obtaining legal status was what prompted me to pursue a career in immigration law. Having the opportunity to help clients one on one is what prompted me to want to join CHIRLA. I am currently a Legal Fellow in the Legal Department and I help clients complete naturalization applications and to apply for DACA Renewals.
